SERIES 1000
Foam Dock Seal
with Fixed Head Pad
The Series 1000 Dock Seal provides airtight protection to the loading dock area during material handling operations. The Series 1000 is most effective when servicing uniform vehicles at a dock having common parameters.
The vehicle positioned at the dock compresses the resilient foam pads, eliminating the gap between the facility and the vehicle body.
To ensure maximum durability, the Series 1000, 1200 and 1400 are available in our superior performance materials. A unit constructed of Dynalon will ensure superior weather-ability and wear characteristics.
As an option, the full height of the unit may be further reinforced with our exclusive
Dyna-Armor.
Suggested Specification:
Series 1000 Foam Dock Seal with Fixed Head Pad, as manufactured by Fairborn USA Inc., Upper Sandusky, Ohio.
Dock seal shall have a Dynalon base fabric, or other fabric as specified. The Dynalon cover shall enclose a polyurethane foam pad, which is to be chemically welded to a 2" thick, pressure treated wood frame, kiln dried before and after treating. (Steel frame is optional.) The cover shall wrap behind the wood frame and be secured with stainless steel staples for weather-tight construction. Adequate air exhausts and drain holes are to be provided in covers, and both shall be designed to prohibit moisture infiltration. Side pads shall include full length, highly visible guide stripes. Mounting hardware shall have a rust resistant coating.
Standard unit shall consist of two side pads that mount vertically along both sides of the door opening. Unit shall have one head pad that mounts horizontally between or across the top of the side pads.
Here's how a performance based specification would be written:
